Sunglasses for Your Outdoor Living Space
Exterior solar shades stop the sun's heat and glare before it reaches your patio, porch, or windows - cutting up to 95% of UV and dramatically lowering the temperature of the space, while still letting you see out. Unlike interior blinds, exterior solar shades block the heat on the outside, so it never gets into the room in the first place.
Why Homeowners Add Solar Shades
- Beat the afternoon sun - make a west-facing patio usable again in July.
- Cut glare - no more squinting at the TV or your laptop on the porch.
- Lower cooling bills - less heat hitting the glass means less load on your AC.
- Protect furniture - UV fades cushions, rugs, and flooring; solar shades block most of it.
- Keep the view - the open-weave fabric lets you see out while shading the space.
Choose Your Openness
Solar shade fabric comes in "openness factors" from about 3% to 14%. A lower number blocks more sun and gives more daytime privacy; a higher number keeps more of your view. We bring fabric samples to your free quote so you can hold them up and see the difference in your own light.
Manual or Motorized
Smaller shades work perfectly with a manual crank or pull. For wide openings, high mounts, or a cleaner look, we install motorized solar shades with a remote - and optional sun and wind sensors that lower and raise them automatically.
